There are TV & phone hookups in each bedroom and living room. The main living areas feature a balcony or patio, berber-type carpet, Levilor-type blinds on all windows, & track lighting. The cabinets, trim and doors are strand-laminate oak. Kitchens feature self-cleaning ovens, vented range hoods, dishwashers, garbage disposals, & color-coordinated laminate counters.


There are four garden level one bedroom apartments in the 923 building. All have a view of Mt. Baker from the large living room and bedroom windows. The kitchens are comfortable and provide a breakfast bar for casual meals. The water heater is electric, as are the bedroom baseboard heater and living room wall heater. Units 104 and 109 have apx. 550 sq. ft. Units 106 and 107 have apx. 490 sq. ft. Each unit has one assigned parking place.


Units 202 and 216 ( 770 & 734 sq. ft) overlook the central courtyard, with private access stairs and balcony. They offer 2 bedrooms and one bathroom, kitchen/living area, and deck. A gas fireplace with tiled hearth provides romantic heat for the main living space, with supplemental electric baseboard heaters in each bedroom. Each unit has one assigned parking place.


Units 110 and 114 in the 925 building have 910 sq. feet, a full bathroom upstairs and half bathroom on the living level. The deck overlooks the landscaped berm with the Mountain ash (rowan) trees which for which the condos are named. A gas fireplace with tiled hearth provides romantic heat for the main living space, with supplemental electric baseboard heaters in the two bedrooms. Adjacent to the entry and stairs, a two car garage with automatic opener forms the lowest level of these three-story units.

Units 204, 205, 206, 207, 208 and 209 in the 923 building have apx.1200 sq. feet on three levels with skylit stairway. There are two full bathrooms, one on each bedroom level. The deck and living room, and two bedrooms have Mount Baker and valley views. A gas fireplace with tiled hearth provides romantic heat for the main living space, with supplemental electric baseboard heaters in the four bedrooms. Adjacent to the entry and stairs, a two car garage with automatic opener forms the lowest level of these two-and-a half story units.


Both accessible garden level units offer a view of Mt. Baker from the large living room and one East facing bedroom window. The water heater is electric, as are the bedroom baseboard heater and living room wall heater. There is one signed accessible parking space. Garden level unit # 109 in the 923 building is a one bedroom accessible apartment, and has apx. 550 sq. ft.


Garages are assigned to specific units. If you would like a garage you need to choose a unit that includes one. All garages come with an automatic door opener. There is also assinged parking for all units along the east side of Rowan Grove.


Rowan Grove is located on the hill at 921 & 929 20th St, an easy walk to WWU. There are two picnic areas with Barbeques and picnic tables for our resident' enjoyment. Our on-site laundry facility, for the exclusive use of Rowan Grove residents, is well lit and clean, and provides three coin-operated Kenmore washing machines and four coin operated dryers, a laundry sink and clothes-folding table. Secure mail boxes for each unit are located in the entry stairwell area of the 929 building; recycling bins and dumpster are located at the west end of that building. Assigned parking is off the alley.


In early April we take reservations for the upcoming summer and fall. Our condos are usually completely reserved in mid- May. We give priority to current residents.
